Today’s devotion was written by Pastor Tom Kock who serves our brothers and sisters at Living Word Lutheran Church in Johnson City, TN.  I enjoyed it much and hope that you do as well!

Devotion:  (Luke 21:25-28) “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.  26 Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.  27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

When the leaves begin to change colors, we know that Fall is upon us, and winter is soon to come: the signs are there.

What are the signs of Jesus’ second coming?  He told us that there would be famines and earthquakes, that there would be wars and rumors of wars, that there would be false prophets who would appear, etc.  Hmm.  Sounds like all the signs are there doesn’t it?  It sure does!  And so yes, Jesus could return at any time!

And we are excited about that!  After all, who is coming back?  Jesus is coming back!  And how does Jesus feel about you?  He loves you!  How can you know that Jesus loves you?  Because He died and rose for you!

And so lift up your heads!  Your redemption – your entrance to heaven with all its blessings is drawing near!

Trying to keep my eyes to the skies, just like you,
